            What we do

            Inspiration

The Close Retreat Center is a Christian retreat set aside for contemplation, worship, study and quiet renewal for individuals as well as small groups.  The Close Retreat Center is intended to be primarily a private adult retreat center, not a conference center.  While it is possible to sleep about twenty people, we are most pleased when it is used by one or two people on quiet retreat.

            Accommodations-Events

Two lodges and three duplex cabins are located on approximately 150 acres called The Close Retreat Center.  The retreat is designed and operated to accommodate 1-30 people so that retreatants can experience God and His creation in a deep and personal way.  A glass gable chapel (The Chapel Of The Broken Vessel) is located on the property for prayer, worship, or meditation, and Weddings.

            Surroundings

The Close is located in the heart of the Daniel Boone National Forest atop a peninsula overlooking the Rockcastle River Gorge, within 3 miles of Highway 192 and Mount Victory, Kentucky.  It is surrounded by cliffs and hardwood forests.  Trails lead into valleys abundant in ferns, hemlocks, rhododendron, hardwoods, and a number of wildflowers.  Trails also traverse the ridges where one can view meadows, ponds, outlying hills and watersheds..
