Bethany Lodge - Faith Cabin
On a wooded hill overlooking Cold Springs Lake and distant hills is a newly built lodge (Bethany) with more modern amenities. The lodge will sleep up to (12) people. It includes five bedrooms with a pair of twin beds in each. Two bedrooms have full private baths. Two bedrooms (on the lower level) share a full bath while a bedroom (on the upper level) shares a full bathroom with the commons area. In three bedrooms, twins can be made into a King bed upon request. The lodge also accommodates 30+ for meetings. Bethany has a small library, a large kitchen/dining area, and spacious meeting rooms. The basement features a flat screen television for presentations. For winter months, it is heated with propane gas heaters and a central fireplace. It is also air conditioned for Summer use.
There is an accompanying overflow cabin, (Faith), that sleeps up to two in each of two separate bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and has a private screened porch with views of the lake and meadows. The two bedrooms can be connected (as for a family), through a shared lockable door.

Hope and Love Cabins
In the woodland, fringing Cold Springs Lake and located down the hill from Betany Lodge are Hope and Love Cabins which sleeps up to 4 people each. Each cabin has one bedroom with twin beds that can be made into a King upon request with a full bathroom, living area, kitchenette, and dining space. There is a screened porch connected to the bedroom side of each cabin which has a private view of the lake and forest, Hope and Love also has a sofa bed for a small family, a propane heater for Autumn, Winter, and Spring seasons and air conditioning for summer months.

Salem Cabin
Salem cabin is nestled in a secluded valley to the north of Cold Springs Lake. It can accommodate up to 4 people. It features a full kitchen and a dining area with a large screened porch overlooking a stream. Salem has one bedroom with a king bed and a full private bathroom. There is a loft with two twin beds. The living room has a full sleep sofa as well. The cabin also has a common 1/2 bath. It is heated with a propane heater as well as a wood stove and supplied with ample firewood in season. It has Air Conditioning for Summer months. Salem has a small library. The screened porch has a day bed as well as rockers and a dining table.

The Chapel of the Broken Vessel sits prominently nearby on the hilltop with a panoramic view of the gorge, distant hills, cabins, lodges, and the lake located in the center of the property. The chapel is a wood and glass structure which allows light throughout. Seating will accommodate approximately 30 people. The east glassed end of the chapel opens to view the Rockcastle River Gorge and the Cane Creek valley and a newly installed formal Carol Barr Memorial Garden. Retreatants can sit in study and contemplation among the beautiful Autumn colors and the muffled roar of the Rockcastle Narrows rapids.

The chapel is free for any groups that reserve a cabin on the property.
Woodlands, dells, meadows, streams, and small lakes are within the property that makes up The Close. There are trails leading from the cabins and lodges to ridge top views, valley floors, waterfalls, and gorge overlooks. These trails also lead to connections to Forest Service trails descending into the Rockcastle River Gorge and surrounding forest land. Pines, Oaks, Dogwoods, Redbud, Serviceberry and many varieties of wildflowers color The Close throughout the year. Canopy trees create refreshingly cool spots while early wildflowers warm cool spring days. We invite you to experience the grounds during your stay to taste God's creation and His will for your life.
